I pulled my GMG Harness roll bar out of my 997.1. This roll bar bolts directly into the 4 seat belt locations (not to frame members). I bought this roll bar in 2015 and was installed in my 2008 911 Turbo street car. Note - this roll bar allows full maximum seat movement. My full electric seats were not limited at all. Let me know if have any questions. Prefer local pickup/delivery because not sure how to ship this large thing.

 

Any idea if this would fit a 991.1 GT3?

 

I have no idea. GMG has changed this roll bar since I bought mine. I don't know if dimensional relationship of seat belt locations is same for 996 versus 997 versus 991. You may be able to call GMG for confirmation.

 

I have seen other bars where they are compatible from 996 & 997. So I'd imagine this one to be as well. But def not going from 997 to 991.

I'm half contemplating this for my 996 but I'm way the heck up in MN.

996 and 997 yes should convey interchangeably. Had a tequipment roll bar way back that came from a 996 to my 997. Will confirm if conveys to 991. Thx!

 

If you can pack it up and ship using our UPS account, I'd love to buy it.

 

The bar is currently painted silver. Just thinking out loud - if someone plans on painting a different color, why cant I simply attach shipping label and send it as is (would likely get scratched with all handling)? UPS ships all kinds of stuff unpackaged, tires, etc. I could send bosses separately.

 

somethig like this size will likely have to go freight. Throw it on a pallet and strap it down. Off she goes. Shouldn't cost more than 150-175 across the nation.

Ups would never take it just by the size of it bc its bigger than their standard parcel shipment size. Secondly, sure, slap a label on it and send... but I can guarantee you, it will be bent and out of form upon arrival to the buyer.

 

FYI - doesn't fit 996 according to GMG website.
