I have a set of hollow spoke rims that I took off my 996 Turbo a while back. They've just been sitting in storage and I no longer have that car, so I figure I might as well free up some space. They are in great shape, they have been resprayed in the past, however it is in good shape and there are hardly any blemishes on the surface. There is some minor scraping on the rear outer rims, but nothing severe. Everything I mentioned can be seen in the pictures. The old tires were removed, so it is just the rims being sold. I am sorry to burst your bubble but these are not magnesium wheels!

I have a set just like yours for sale here (refinished in black). I just put them on scale and I got 21lb 7oz, 26lb 10oz. At first I thought heck, maybe mine are magnesium too! Then I looked up what the code on the spoke “AlSi12Mg” means.

From my research: “it is the type of metal alloy. It stands for aluminum, silicon, magnesium. Many aluminum alloys have silicon and magnesium in them. I think the 12 represents the average silicon content.”

 

I see, my mistake. I'll edit the post. Thanks for the info! They are genuine hollow spokes though, that I know for sure.

GT3 Chuck, I agree with your assessment. I also want to point out that the subject of this thread is misleading, as it states that these wheels are magnesium, implying much higher value than they are in fact. Possibly the OP simply cannot update the subject line, something you could assist with maybe?

Thank you guys! I was trying to change that, I did it with the title box in edit mode but it only changed it within the thread, not with the shown title in the actual classifieds. I thought it would change in a couple days but it never did.
