Insurance on Bentley? WOW!!!

Just about to pull the trigger on a 2007 GT Diamond Series.

I am having trouble finding anyone who will insure the car.

Most companies are saying that they will not insure anything over $150,000.

Any ideas on who will?

I have called Nationwide, Wawanessa, Geico etc.

Also what are most people paying?

Thanks,

Ice

This is a good problem to have lol
Good luck

neversleeps 03-05-2008 01:06 PM

I heard progressive deals with more 'high risk' cars and drivers.

integrate 03-05-2008 01:10 PM

I think many mentioned using StateFarm for high end cars and getting good prices

OXYGEN8 03-05-2008 01:26 PM

Try 21st.com also. My neighbor insures his Aston DB9 with them

GossettPorsche 03-05-2008 02:03 PM

I know state farm does. I'm not sure about the rates but I know clients of mine have used state farm for all sorts of exotics and high risk cars -- Bentley's, Astons, Ferrari's and Lambo's, etc.

Good Luck Steve ;)

State Farm - I've insured my Bentley, Gallardo and other cars with them and never had problems and never paid more than about $120/month for each car. I wouldn't go through a specialty company.

mburnstein 03-05-2008 10:42 PM

Any description of the GT Diamond you may get?

Stryke 03-06-2008 05:06 AM

What kind of nonsense is that? I had my Lambo and my Bentley with Geico.

Called Geico they wouldn't touch it!!!

I'm glad they helped you out but for me I'm SOL with them.

And yes it is complete nonsense not to be able to get coverage from alot of companies due to the fact that the car is over $150,000.

I will persevere tho. I will get Coverage on that car!!!!!!!!!! LOL

Yes the car is an 07 Diamond Series with 5200 Miles. Black on Black with Red Leather stitching and Red crest's on all seats and inside the doors as well.. Black piano veneer dash. Diamond series 20" wheels. Was able to get a real good deal on it through a wholesaler friend on mine who handles Lambo's. Ferrari's and Bentley's.

I will post pictures when I get the car.

Then hit the Mod trainhilarious

I have 4 vehicles with State Farm and 3 are high end. Very reasonable rates.

Your age could ahve something to do with the situation. It's the way insurance companies work.

Never a problem with insurance but you must have a clean driving record, high FICO, and own some real estate.

Do you or your wife have tickets in the last 3 years?

I work at a body shop and we get lots of our clients with $200,000+ cars. Most either have StateFarm, Farmers, or Allstate.

Oh boy sorry to hear that!

That's what is killing you.

Progressive takes risks but is very poor about paying claims!

Keep yourself out of trouble for a while.

Enjoy the car, however.

BTW, my 360 is less/year than my CL500! Figure that one out.

Have all those so it may be a factor but I never had a problem getting insurance on any car. I have other non-auto policies with Geico as well.

zen garage 03-06-2008 07:09 PM

i have not had a ticket in years, cannot speak for my wife. i am sure having a nanny on an internation license cant be good for our rates.

i own a large custom bodyshop that fixes alot of high end cars. becareful with some of the lesser insurance companies that may cap their payout at $150,000 which is the case with a lp640 i am fixing now..repairs are now approaching 200 leaving the cust holding the bag. allstate will limit your aftermarket mods to $1000 unless specifically noted on your policy

mburnstein 03-06-2008 07:33 PM

CHUBB. I insured for a $ value.

peterserbanica 03-07-2008 05:18 AM

Try LLoyds of London or Chubb

Smart man. Their masterpiece policy is second to none.

Stryke 03-07-2008 05:18 PM

Geico confirmed today for me that they are covering all of my cars for full replacement value without any dollar limitation including my Bentley.

Full replacement can mean many things Gil. Not trying to give you a hard time at all here but i would REALLY look into this and see if its an AGREED VALUE coverage.

They may "fully replace" your car in the event of a loss - but they may not replace it the way you think they should.

Ask me how i know.....

Stryke 03-08-2008 06:14 PM

They do not replace the car for you. They cut you check for the value of the car.

Ahh ok...but who determines the value? You? Them? Third party?

Stryke 03-09-2008 07:58 AM

They appraise it based on comps.

Ok, thats kinda what i thought. Again gil, not trying to give you a hard time, but for someone with your colletion of cars, looking into an Agreed Value Policy might be worth the time...just a suggestion from one car guy to another :D

kennyjr748 03-10-2008 11:03 AM

State Farm for me as well...

Ice's 996tt Cab 03-10-2008 03:26 PM

Update!!

Ok Finally got some good news.:)

Called State Farm and they are doing my 4 cars for $4600 a year.

Wow, un real $4000 cheaper than all the fugazi quotes I was getting. This insurance biz is all over the place.

I had 3 cars with Progressive and was paying 3900 a year, so I'm basically bringing on the Bentley for a $100 a year more. Unreal!!

Thanks for evryones input and I will take delivery of the car on Wednesday and post pictures shortly after.

Thanks again,

Ice

A lot of my client's use Haggerty and Farmers. I think they toss it in with their home owner's insurance.

Farmers does...and they are one of the best from a coverage standpoint...esp for the high-end clients.

Haggerty doesnt do Homeowners from what i know...but do a great job on specialty vehicles.

Ice, congrats Bro! Its all about being patient and finding someone who will work FOR you in this biz.

Cant wait to see the pics!!!

insurance

i use safeco for all my cars. they are fine with it. for the gt i am paying 1200 a year full coverage 1000 deductible. max out on liability at 500k/1million. here is how i did it. i put my 85 corolla as my primary car and all the other as leisure car. so each car i only pay like 1000 per year for full coverage. all the cars i got i only pay like 6000 a year.

axis007 04-29-2008 10:40 AM

state farm, they handled al my cars. good luck.

chidoks 04-29-2008 11:46 AM

geico insures almost anything
