Try to determine if you will be needing tires or maintenance soon and therefore prepared for those costs. Have you test drove the car well? Has the car really hooked you yet? Ha Ha. Hope all goes well for you.

Find a Bentley mechanic and pay to have it inspected. Once he plugs it into the computer to see what comes up as well as an inspection of the car, you should have a decent understanding of what you need to have fixed. If the car needs new rotors, any suspension issues you might start to rack up repair costs. As far as my 05, I had it inspected, had a service done, new brake pads, turned the rotors, new battery and I was good to go. My experience has been positive with no unexpected repairs.
When I was looking for mine, everyone told me to have it looked at prior to handing over the $.

Thanks, Good advice, I want to buy the car in Belgium, I live in Norway, I aske because I will actually be the 4th owner not the third as thought, From all the ads I see for Bentleys I only see 1 owner. I aske d the owner via email about why so many owners, he would not comment, just told me he had all service history,in fact he was annoyed, I like the car, I asked if the pictures when he bought the car or are they to date, did not reply to that either. I have to fly from Norway to Belgium, Before I do that I want to do as you say and make a appointment to the nearest dealer for a check. If he refuses me to do that shall I stay clear of the buy? Please reply ASAP. He is willing to go down to 50000 euro, which he jumped on first try, which I thought seemed strange, others would not or only go down a 1000 euro, I guess it depends on economical issue, but if you own a Bentley you should have the salary to go with it
Thanks

I would not buy the car without an inspection. If no inspection, I would pass. Even if the car looked excellent, I would not buy it due to another excellent car will come around soon! If you buy it and certain things need fixing or if it was in a major collision you will be stuck with trying to make it right and Bentley's should be right...

If he refuses a full inspection run back to Norway if needed. Crooks hide and the honest are proud to display.

I would be somewhat concerned that the detail sheet is mistaken about the number of owners and would wonder a bit if there were other errors?

I was in error on number of owners, the car had 2 previous owners, he is the third, I will be the forth, according to law he has to have the car inspected and on this title of inspection shows the car history if its been in a accident or insurance claims. Something else I need to double check is if anything is owed on the car,for example if he still owes the bank. Its easy to fill out a bill of sale and hand over a title. Then when the person goes to register as I will in Spain, money is still owed on the car. If its like Norway then the title will show A.the Bank or B,the owner. Thing is this guy is touchy when asked questions. I should say no just on the fact he is, but I like what I see and the price is right, but I will go and see, first I will ask if he objects to a mechanic to look at the car, if he response negatively then I will not bother.

Hi¨
I informed him that I wanted to have the Bentley garage look at the car,he said OK he could do that but I would need to advance him 2000 euro. My plan was to write to the Shop closet to him, meet him at the airport and drive the car to the shop. Besides 2000 euro is a full service, all I want is a inspection, sounds like he wants a free full service. I surely am not going to advance 2000 euro before I have even seen the car in person!

Buyer beware!

There seems to be a lot of issues with this transaction. My mode of operation follows the idea that: If everything falls into place, go for it, if not, freeze in your tracks.
