Birthday Ride

I asked my daughter, who turned 18 Sunday, what she would like to do on that day. She wanted to go for a car ride. Well I guess I could go for that.

We went up the hills of Kentucky and TN and had a grand ride. After the second leg of mountain driving we stopped for a bathroom break and she exclaimed that her under arms were damp. I noticed mine similar. Looks like the four wheel drifting and 30-80 between turns got to us.

Neither of us were ever frightened but not unaffected none the less. Wow what a kid, "take me for a thrill ride dad and keep the speed up". She said one time that the only way it could get any better was if she was following in and Aston V8V. She has driven that car and fell in love with it. Damned spoiled little girl.

Swear to you i didn't do it. Wasn't there. Never even seen her before. Have no idea what you are talking about.

Nope, no idea at all.

FYI: Dr D and i have been joking around. None of this is serious but couldn't help 'jab' him a bit just as a good friend.

Thanks for sharing. Those are great quality times with the kids. I recently took my 5 year old son in my GT2, put the booster seat in the front seat and gave him a thrill. He loved it, calls it the race car porsche compared to my C2S.

My good mates are always allowed to bust my chops for the good fun of all, no worries Steven. BTW do you have an industrious son?

I offered a nice mature hard working farm boy 5K$ and her to wife if he wanted her. You fathers know you would pay for the right man for the girl, instead of some drug dealing not good POS.

We did have some very deep talks about all subjects especially school and career. We actually spoke of safe sport driving. I did tell her she can buy her own V8V with all the $ she makes as some type of professional.

Raised other's, none of my own (by choice). Great you two spent quality time together. In our busy lives... Time is so very precious. Ummm, so just what is "safe sport driving"?

Were you willing to offer goats and cattle for the dowry as well?

No they have plenty. It was cash only and I had to clarify that I was not offering a common ho. The poor boy probably could not keep the girl up like daddy does. Oh they have great properties to hunt on.

"safe sport driving", is not crashing or going off road. Actually I was explaining there are conditions that allow you to go faster than others, like seeing the road well ahead and keeping speed controlled. Blind corners that fall away down hill ain't good for slidin around and sh-t!

God Doc, now you are turning your daughter on to speed. You know it's addicting. First your mother, then now this!

Ha, my mother hated the speed and so does the wife. From whence does the love of speed come in the daughter?

I am convinced that some passions are inborn and preprogrammed they are either awakened or not. The best some of us can do is a moderately controlled addiction.

Have you read the latest Bentley magazine? The editors page states the love of speed perfectly for me.

There is a little truth in predestiny. My brother and I love speed. So does my nephew. My parents and other family are in absolute fear of going fast. I will have to read up on the magazine. Somehow I just believe that you are a little crazier than me when it comes to going fast

And there are others like Steven that just like going fast as hell around a race track.

That peaks my curiosity about other "exciting" hobbies that other members might have had.

Steven what other things have you done for excitement, not counting you stamp collection? What about you other guys?

My brother is not as much of a speed/thrill seeker. I like hunting and motorcycles, he prefers golf. He will be coming out from Ca. next weekend and I wonder if he will ask about the car?

I love fast motorcycles. Got a pretty nice collection of Ducati Limited Editon Superbikes. Oh, did I tell you guys that they all are at zero miles? Yeah, I know, it's tempting to start them up. I like to collect toys such as Star War figures in unopened boxes. But, I get my fix on my Harley Roadking so I guess I can still ride a bike. And Doc, don't go scaring the hell out of your brother!
