hi Les,

Neither side is glued. It might take a bit of wiggling to get it out.

Thanks. I have given up after trying. The side seems totally stuck fast and no amount of force will budge it.
I will have to resort to getting the main dealer to reprogram it in November when I'm there.

Regards. Les.

I thought that I would have one last go and use a wider blade to remove the side.
Hey presto, it came off and it's all done.
The new key works just fine and the car runs as normal.

Thanks for all of the help folks.

Les.

Sorry to revive an old thread.

Managed to swap over the internals and all is working, relatively simple.

How do I change over the key blade?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Just to update for those ever wanting to change over the key blade, its a pin that holds the blade in, knock it out and swap over.

All good!

I've found the 04-05 key blades have a pin or a stopper on them that the 06 & up keys do not. Just take a dremel with a grinding wheel on it and gently grind that pin down. Atleast mine did. It was relatively easy to knock down and the key operates smooth as glass. Best luck. The area where u have to grind down is NOT visible once the key is assembled. But just for god measure I re polished it too.

For anyone wanting to do this mod, I have a brand new spare 3 button key (new design) if anyone is interested, let me know.

Bentley Key

Depending on the price, I may buy it.

Got your private message, but I can't reply.

Agree with the price.

Do you have an idea how I can use this key with my vehicle?

The previous 06 GT came with the three-button remote. http://www.eurocarnews.com/media/pic.../1566/7709.jpg
