GPS/Radar Signals blocked by UV Coated Windshield?

Dont know if this questions has been asked before but i just did an install of my Passport 9800 and the GPS signal in this radar detector is lost completely when installed on windshield in this car. I also suspected that the radar capabilities were also if not almost lost as i came around areas that normally gave off signals.

Also my garage door lifter does not work when it is used from inside the car and i have to constantly take it out and wave around with my hand out the window to make the garage door work.

Does anyone know about this issue with the UV coated windshield in a 2005+ Bentley GTC?
Is there a work around to make the new nice radar detector actually work? It seems that the only solution is to use the external Radar detector.

Sounds plausible. The parking garage gate sensor at work won't pick up the pas signal from inside the car either.

Re the garage. Have you tried programming the buttons internal to the Bentley (see manual)? and then you wouldn't need the separate garage clicker at all.

Cheers.

Yes, believe your situation is normal and also why they stopped offering that coating.

Toll road transponders won't work either!

jim2331 can only hope to improve
....my garage gate had same issue on 10Speed...the garage provided a devise that attaches below front license plate that cures the problem...as to radar detectors...its more sporting if you play the game, take your chances...JimB
