GT Speed exhaust note ????

Ive notice apart from transmition shift patters when I select sport mode the exhaust get much louder and deeper note.

What's going on there.
Is there an exhaust/ muffler by-pass flap ?
Does it only work in Sport mode or does it operate at a higher speed in normal drive and manual selection mode

I love the sound and want it in Manual selection mode as well can it be done.

What else does the sport mode do, I don't think it gives any more max power...........does it???

REDNOSEGT is infamous around these parts
the exhaust flap opens
if you want that all the time u need to plug the vac lines, i did mine without even removing the lower panel. just put 2 screws in the rubber vac lines or golf tees.
5 min mod for louder exhaust all the time.

I drive in S or manual mode all the time so my flaps are always open.

I drive in sport AND jerked out all the mufflers.

The car salesman and I went out for sushi a week ago and when he got there he said,"man have you heard that car when it is in front of you"? I admitted I had not and we switched cars for a moment. My car sounds louder and better than I had thought. The drivers seat is not the only position from which to evaluate the cars sound.

I'm going to have a look at those vac lines on the exhaust actuator at some point and see what difference it makes.

Can you get at the lines without removing the under tray's etc.

put the car in sport mode. it will open the flaps the exhaust gets a bit louder.

yes u can get to the lines without pulling the tray if u have small hands, pluck them off the actuator and plug them.

Excellent.
Does anyone have a diagram/drawing of just how the flap in the exhaust works.......when its open does it significantly reduce exhaust back pressure?
I presume it opens no matter what gear selector setting when using full power ?
