Bruce, welcome to the Gen 3 club and in your favorite color combo. Good luck with it!
These Gen 3 TT V8s are amazing and FAST cars. In sport mode that dual clutch trans snaps off shifts faster than you can think.
11 second 4700lb car that gets 22mpg on a trip.

I can't say yes based on any empirical testing but it certainly feels that way. Of course, this car is 4 years and 20K miles younger so that could be a factor.
One very nice upgrade is the HomeLink garage door programming. No more climbing a ladder to press a button on the motor for rolling codes, it's all magically done from the car's touchscreen.
The car has only one battery now located where the spare tire used to be. Instead of a spare there's an inflator.

Bruce, unless yours is different from mine, Gen 3 V8s have 2 batteries, a systems battery and a starter battery. Also a PSA for everyone; do not put anything in the trunk (boot) that could possibly spill liquid onto the floor as the electronics underneath will suffer damage - no, I did not suffer this.
I took a look tonight at both the car and the manual. There is one 12v battery under the floor of the boot AND there is a 48v supercapacitor somewhere as well but that shouldn't need service.

Thank you Bruce and my apologies for muddying the waters.
