New owner in Louisiana!
My wife and I were looking at prospective convertibles as a fun day/Sunday driver. In the running were the AM DB-9 and the Ferrari California. I had set up a 2 day rental for the AM while at the Austin F1 race and planned on a couple of days driving the hill country west of Austin, but, to my initial disappointment the DB-9 suffered a driveline failure while being loaded up for delivery and I received a last minute call stating so. The leasing company said they had a Bentley GTC that they would give me at the same rate. I thought about it, and in spite of my thinking that the Bentley was going to be a pig (in comparison to the AM) dressed up in a glorified Chrysler 300 outfit, and said I'll take it. Needless to say the AM and the Ferrari were scratched off my list and I will be taking delivery of a 2013 GTC Le Mans edition in Beluga/Beluga Guy Smith specification. It will be my wife's daily driver. Should be here in about a week.

Beautiful car and double Beluga is stunning! As a GTC daily driver here, the B has a way of bringing so many smiles. Look foward to seeing pics as i think you are among the first here with the new editon.

FYI: THE GUY SMITH SPECIFICATION - With an impressive list of wins already to his name, Guy Smith was a central figure in Team Bentley’s attack at the historic 2003 Le Mans 24 Hours. Guy piloted the Bentley Speed 8, car No. 7, across the finish line to claim Bentley’s emotional sixth victory at the event, securing his place in racing legend.

Thanks Grwisher. My wife and I are waiting with great anticipation. The only deviation from the Guy Smith spec is the woodwork will be the dark eucalyptus fiddleback. I just could not go for a Bentley without the beautiful wood grains they are famous for...just my hangup.
How funny the car to be sampled failed?? Do you believe in fate? I bet you do now.
Three different cars you mentioned and they are all great super cars but the Bentley is a more reliable DD skewed more to the luxury end of the three. If this is the wife's DD what do you get to drive?

Just got the call from the transport driver and my wife is taking delivery of her new ride as I type
. Very cool/wet/blustery day down here in South La (Louisiana...not the barrio...LOL) so the top will likely be up for a while
. Then again..a road test and write-up of the effectiveness of the neck warmers may be in order!?! I will add to the official photo thread once conditions permit. Good day to all.

Oh...Dr. Danger...I just noticed your question about my DD. I have driven a pick-up (Fords ONLY) or a suburban for many years. I do a lot of towing boats or cars around and I hate washing my own vehicle so it works for me. I kept a 2001 911 C4 cabriolet fully optioned out with the full leather package for my alternate fun car but I gave that to my ex as a gesture of good will/amends
. I knew eventually I would get another drop top but I would have never expected to fall in love with the B. My other "fast cars" were all road racers...Formula Mazda/Pro Mazdas and Spec Miatas.
