I'm shopping new vs slightly used right now and see what kind of money people are getting off on new ones. Can anyone shed some light on this?

 

I can...I purchased a new 2013 CGT convert. Le Mans edition on 11/21/13 (MSRP 219K) for 195K. I traded in a 2013 Cayenne GTS and was about 12K upside down. If it was a straight deal without a trade I suspect I could have got them down to 190K....maybe. They wanted to get the deal done quick since it was the end of the month and the salesman really wanted to get his sale in. I don't know if there is any wiggle room on the 2014's...the dealerships I shopped at lead me to believe there was not. My dealer was FC Kerbeck out of New Jersey. If I were to order one to my specs I would definitely buy at a dealer within service distance, even if I had to pay a reasonable amount more to do so.

Also...if I could have found car about a year old that met my specs I would have definitely bought used and saved enough money get a Prius.....well maybe not that...but at least a Spec Miata to beat on.

Robin. I appreciate your insight. As of now I found a car I like that is about 200 miles away. It is brand new untitled but has 300 miles because the manager drove it to show a client. MSRP is $243k. Out of the box they are offering it at $230k. This is on a 14

PS: They have a 3k miles used 2014 with W12 engine for $216k, with really nice color combo and you save 35k off new price yet still getting a 2014.
