Did you know this about the GT?

I thought it might be fun to post things that we had learned about our GT's so here goes with my discovery for today:

Above the centre console, in the centre, is a large metal mesh area. I always thought it was a speaker....until today.

I had to demist the front window in a hurry....turns out it houses the windscreen blower ....did you know that?

Parking brake

The electronic parking brake disengages itself automatically when you pull off....the guy I bought it from didn't know that and always did it manually.

If you engage and hold the electronic parking brake while going along the car performs an emergency stop, not just like jamming a hand brake on....but a full emergency stop with ABS etc all working.

After spirited driving and braking, if you engage the parking brake it reapplies itself after a couple of minutes to allow for shrinkage of the discs caused by cooling...clever stuff.

On the same vein... When I was looking for mine a guy at a dealer told me that when he doing his sales training at Crewe he was told the Flying Spur ( so presumably the GT too) will stop from 70mph in.....wait for it.....3 CAR LENGTHS!!......he also said he actually achieved this....do you reckon it can?

Did you know... the GT is very stable at 160mph and handles road anomalies impressively well.

And if you put the switch to the left and adjust...then set with the seat memory...when you are reversing it will always go to that position..essential for preserving those special alloys.

The GT had the largest brake discs of any production car in the world at the time.....still... 70mph to 0 in say 54 feet? Would love to get that confirmed. I'm not trying it in mine!

Low mode seems to happen around 120mph, though I could be wrong. The car feels very planted at high speed.

If it is 'warm' outside and then temps drop to 39F or below you will hear a DING sound. It means the car is going into 'snow' mode. You will see a white snowflake on the lower part of the dash by the overall miles travelled in the car since birth.

It certainly does....I'll carry out out a thorough check of low mode tomorrow as I'm planning to go to Belgium for the day.

Got the ding....happens at 4deg Celsius I think...I didn't think it changed anything though.

Yes, she has power folding mirrors by turning the side view mirror adjustment **** so it points to the rear of the car.

Another tip: If the **** is pointing center front you get defrost.

Quite right...top centre is defrost....left position enables reverse dip....down south enables folding.

I've also noticed that when you look in the drivers side mirror and Push the peddle to the floor the car behind you gets very small very quickly.
