05 BCT wheel well buzz

Greetings,

I have a buzzing sound coming from the right front wheel well area. It will stop but start again when I put my foot on the brakes.

Is this normal or is something about to pick my back pocket.

that buzzing noise is the vacuum pump, usually on the left hand side or steering wheel side if you have a left hand drive, the fact it goes off is good news ,if it doesn't go off or comes on prematurely you usually have an air leak that can be quite expensive.

The buzzing still bothers me as it seems excessive - it seems to be on a lot.

How long should it run before shutting off - no running issues/codes.

I'm such a newbie.

cheers

it should only run a couple of secs, one way of testing is rapidly press brake pedal and see how many presses you get before buzzing,if it buzzes on acceleration you probably have a leak. you will not necessary get codes.

Well, I noticed it started while accelerating yesterday so it looks like I have a leak. How critical is it to get it in the shop?

Regards
