Strongly considering a Bentley GTC V8
Easy! I thought the national average was 12000 a yr! So this is why I see so many with low mileage. The first owners used them as driveway trophies.
I have a Ford truck that gets most of the duty and we will take the wife's Audi A7 on family outings. My car is not a true DD but not a queen to trophy. 12'000 sounds like a full time car with no other ride in play. I doubt even the regular drivers of the Bentleys get that kind of milage. Not that the cars won't do it.

When I bought mine on 2011 I figured i would not trade mine anytime soon and decided to not worry about the finical ramifications of divesting a high milage car. That would ruin the whole ownership experience for me. I make money doing dentistry and consume it on life.
I do not know from experience but i bet high miles would give you a problem. for some reason exotic cars are expected not to be driven. total crap but is the truth. However the Bentleys are not so high strung and the Lambos or Ferraris and because of that will go into the upper miles with less costs.

My Indie told me of a GT that has over 250,000 miles on it and is still running just fine.
I've done 18,000 miles over the past 2 years. Meanwhile, the V70 sits there and normally only gets used when we need to trailer anything.

I have done 21000km over the past 6 months.....
I strongly believe that, if the car is properly maintained, driving it a lot is good for it.
most of my km are done on highway and quite a lot, in Germany and Denmark, at high speed.

X2 I always have more issues with the machines that i use seasonally. Does the term use it or loose it come to mind?
So, I ended up taking the job and will be heading to upstate in less than a month.
The recruiter said that the people that work there have "nice" cars. When pressed for details, he said they had Audis and BMWs in the $60k to $80k range.
Today, I drove a 911 Turbo, a Conti GTC V8S, and a Audi R8 V10. The Porsche left me bored, the Bentley took my breath away, and the Audi was very exciting if not quite as pleasant as the Bentley. The Bentley just felt right.
So it would be my first choice, but I'm wondering if rolling in, in a $200k Bentley, will be a problem for my new management. I would LOVE to have the Bentley but I am truly concerned about my bosses first impressions. I'm wondering if I should play it safe and get the Audi R8 first, then get a Bentley as the next car in 3-5 years.
What do you think?

Hmm..... I'd suggest not. Never look TOO well-off and **** off the establishment. Or forget all that and be bold with the Bentley if you have the brains and ingenuity to pull it off.
If not, you might come off like a total ****** and they'll make fun of you; the newbie outcast of the lot. This is why you really should start your own companies like many of us and then never worry

Good advice on the car. Do you think an R8 would be too conspicuous as well?
I actually do have my own business (significant real estate rental holdings) but it doesn't challenge me intellectually. The bigger issue is that, while it produces six figures of income, my day job is way better.
I've actually looked into multiple businesses over the years but I've been blessed / cursed in that I have golden handcuffs. I've been working in the top ranks of the top part of the Fortune 500 for a while now. It would be a rare business that could beat the NPV of my current compensation, given the ramp up I'd need to do, and would have significantly higher risk to boot.
I'm thinking I'll just ride out my job for the next 10 years and retire completely vs starting over at this point.
Sigh. I guess I'll just have to get a summer car / garage queen to live out my fantasies until then.
