This is an old comment, but for anyone else reading this thread: yes, you can. I just did it. If you don't care about the light you are removing, it will be pretty easy. I was pulling one off a parts car. While trying to remove the light without damaging it, it was tricky not to melt it with the hot knife. I succeeded, but masking it would have made it easier.

Like any exacto blade work, I recommend going over the plastic lightly over and over. Best luck.

 

What year car was this? And where is the most reasonable place to buy the kit?

As far as the year, I believe that @Zaos has a 2005, but this will be the same for the 04-11 GT.

Also, see my Bentley GT rebuild thread (linked below) posts numbers 294 through 301 for my HMBL replacement, no saw, no slap hammer needed, as in reading how Zaos did his, it made me look for a less dangerous way of replacement, as the replacement has 2 wires instead of a ribbon cable.

As far as the light itself, I purchased mine directly from Bentley, BOE in Edison NJ, just as I did for @Camaz at a discounted price.
