Has anyone tried cutting the lip with a hot knife? Im thinking this will be safer than trying to cut the lip.
This is an old comment, but for anyone else reading this thread: yes, you can. I just did it. If you don't care about the light you are removing, it will be pretty easy. I was pulling one off a parts car. While trying to remove the light without damaging it, it was tricky not to melt it with the hot knife. I succeeded, but masking it would have made it easier.
Like any exacto blade work, I recommend going over the plastic lightly over and over. Best luck.
