cgt 2005 Cd player / add a phone cable

I have a Cd changer in the glove box. I assume if I can remove it I will find a line level cable going out of the Cd to the amplifier where ever that is. I assume this is a normal 2x cable for left and right possibly with rca Jacks on it, possibly it's hard wired but still a line level cable.

Questions :

1) can I patch another cable onto this cable with a phone jack so I can play music from the phone instead of the tv. ?
2) same question but add a Bluetooth device instead of cable
3) where are the screws to remove the Cd player and any guidance on doing it carefully.?

It is not a normal RCA cable PLUS you need to 'fool' the car radio into electrically sensing there is a CD changer hooked up. Remove the CD changer and for $35 it is plug 'n' play easy to have RCA jacks.

As for BlueTooth and how to remove disc changer, please use the SEARCH function as it has been covered many, many times over. Thx.

How do I limit the search to the Bentley section only . I tried the advanced search and there is an option for "present" which I assume to be the bentley thread I was already in but it has "porsche" listed as the present.

Basically, you will need to remove the CD changer and use a Dice Mediabridge or other unit if you need RCA or 1/8" stereo input and Bluetooth. i gave up on Bluetooth, frankly, and so the unit on Amazon i posted above was my final choice.

FYI: Tried four solutions (Bentley stock Apple input unit, two by Dice....) and in the end gave up on BT. Too much trouble plus i use a Samsung Gear S2 watch for speakerphone. If you truly must have Bluetooth speakerphone above all else, Bentley does sell a newer module for around $650 plus install at http://www.flyingspares.com/shop/blu....html?___SID=U

Cool

Off topic. Steven. It looks like you have resolved the NAV CD update issue. I have an original AQ in my 06. Can you provide info for new CD? Thanks T.

CD should also be the BMW data HIGH discs. Not sure if/when BMW phased out the CD NAV updates, call your local BMW dealer or check online.

So in doing some research it looks like I'm stuck with a CD Nav system in my 2006. Is it correct that you can't swap out the reader with a 07-09 DVD unit which would be really nice since they are available all over for cheap. I came up with info part number 65 90 2 365 696 which is a 2015 update and advertised as the last update edition. BMW dealers have them list priced for just under $200. I also see them elsewhere for less. I really only need one disk and that one is listed on Ebay for $85 which is not a great deal as for $100 more you can have the complete set and new. So the question is, is this information all correct? After this I'm making another acknowledgement timer like I did on my 05 infinity G35 so I don't have to hit that stupid disclaimer button every time i start the car. Thanks T.

Not sure if anyone has tried the DVD substitute for the CD version to see if it works. Perhaps start a new thread as we've veered off topic. As for acknowledgment, I'd love to know how to defeat them.

I was to understand that the head and the wiring harness would need to be changed to convert to the dvd reader. I have not seen a plug picture or a wiring diagram to see if there is compatibility between the CD and DVD units. As far as the module you can PM me and I can explain the details.
