P0174 Code Bentley GT
P0174 Code Bentley GT
About 1 week ago i was driving back from having dinner and my check engine light came on, i plugged in my SNAP ON scanner (sorry that's all i have) and it gave me code P0174 Sytem Too lean Bank 2, i'm assuming it's a o2 sensor, at the time i thought it could just be my gas cap so i cleared the code and opened and closed my gas cap, drove it for about 20 minutes and no code (highway) i've put about 60 miles on the car since and today the light came on, i'm sure it's the same code, any thoughts on this ?? anything i should need to know ?? if it's just an O2 sensor i could probably do it myself.
i just bought the car about 2000 miles ago, car starts right up and it feels completely fine, no rough idle or anything, it takes about 50 miles for the light to come on, i will smoke test the car tomorrow, i'm hoping is not that Vacuum Line...
i went through the paperwork the previous owner gave me and it seems like the car has had a similar problem in the past (not sure) but from what it sounds it is, you be the judge, PLEASE NOTE this is from the previous owner, nobody has looked at the car yet on my end.
Does the car normally run rough when that particular vacuum line is busted ?? or would it still drive normal ?? I took the Mass Air Flow Sensors off and this is what i found so far, seems like one of the MAF's sensors is broken, could this be the issue ?? i'm leaving to work and will continue to diagnose the car with the smoke tester since i have to borrow it from a friend.
Hmmm... not sure and we have a tech or two here that am sure knows more than me. When the hose above the transmission went on the 07 GTC here the idle was rough from time to time, but not always. There is the common:
Possible broken oil dip stick top. Remove stick and see if the top plastic on the car or stick assembly is broken.
Broken plastic 'Y' connector for hoses toward rear top of engine
Am sure there is more, yet a smoke test is inexpensive/easy and that helps to see if all your lines are good. Hopefully someone with far more experience than i chimes in.
