Bentley transmission shift delay

2005 Bentley continental gt. 23k miles. Started few months ago. When putting in REVERSE, there's a 3-4 second delay before it engages, and a hard kick when it engages. It wasn't like that before, but one day it just started happening. When put in "D" it engages immediately and can't even feel it. Shifts fine! Anyone has any ideas on this. Thank you.

BentleyF will become famous soon enough
Mine did the exact same thing. I changed the fluid and trans went out.. it lasted about 3 years that way. 3 second delay before engaging in reverse, everything else was fine,no slipping at all...

Hello Crazy,
"went out" meaning it was shot after a flush and filter, but also it did have 181,000 miles on it, at that mileage I would most likely change the filter and add fluid, but not a flush...

Took my 05 continental to a dealer to replace window regulator on passenger rear ($1479.00) It's 3rd one I had to do within 2 years owning it. Passenger door is the one I'm waiting on to fail next. Lol, but actually ☹️. As it was in ( I think have pretty good relationship with these guys " Bentley of Edison NJ" ) I advised them about transmission delay when shifting in reverse. I was told that they never heard of it and recommend transmission flush..( Fluids , filters, then in 1000 miles new fluids, and then in next 1000 miles new fluids) they said that it is recommended by Bentley, but I call bs on this one! They quoted $1300 on first filter and fluid change and $500 each on second and 3rd service. Does anyone have any experience or suggestions about this situation. My continental is 05 with only 26k miles on it.
