Bentley gtc found a highly magnetic place in my consul can anyone explain.

Hi guys I have a bentley gtc and I have by accident found a very strong magnetic force. So much so a penny coin is stuck to it. Could this be anything to do with the tracking system navtrak that I no longer have booted up or could it be something else. I don't want to remove the coin in case it has to be there for a reason. Or could it just be there to pin point a item accessory or something to do with the car. Any advice will be appreciate. It is situated around the centre consul area if that's any help.

Hi John I will try to post a photo later. It is in the centre consul under the arm rest on the vertical part of the compartment at the front. I only found out that it was magnetic because there was a British penny stuck to it. I can remove the penny but I was wondering what the magnet was for. Could it be to reset something to do with the tracker or alarm system?. Thanks.

Hi mate, it holds the drawer closed.

There is also one in the drawer shutter that closes over the storage box.
