I had the same symptons back in march 2016. Overheating message and limp mode for a few seconds until message clears but temp gauge was ok on an 06 gt.
My indy changed exhaust gas temp sensor,
He did however call me before starting the work to say that sometimes the sensor can snap when removing it and it can get stuck inside which can result in more work to remove it however he had only seen this issue on a couple of occasions during his many years at the crewe factory. Needless to say no issues removing and fault was resolved.
I haven't gotten it fixed yet no. But in only does it once in a while and the warning only stays on for 20-30 seconds goes off then I don't see it for days at a time. So I will probably wait until it gives me more of an issue.
....Hello All...just want to let you know how much I have enjoyed this Forum and all participants...looking forward to September 23rd and my 86th Birthday. Leaving again for last Rodeo in 2009 Volvo C30 Yosemite, over hill to 395 and Mammoth, then Tahoe, then Los Vegas to meet friend who has 5 Million dollar P51, just rebuilt engine for $700,000. My friend, a Nuclear Physicist, is in trouble...I go...The Speed must wait it's turn...JimB
My 2002 Arnage T consistently comes up with an Engine Coolant Light despite the level being up to recommended level. I have just completed a 2000 mile trip around Europe. The light came on after 300 miles and then on and off for 170 miles. It stayed off for 1400 miles and then back on permanently for 130 miles. The car is still hot so I cannot check the level but I am sure it is ok. I have changed the sensor but I am sure it is something electrical.
