Hey Bentley specialists! I have a severe exhaust rattle on my 08 GT Speed, only basically when the car starts up and revs to warm the engine. Appears to only happen around 900 to 1200 RPMs, then when the car is warm and settles to under 700 it goes away. You can hear it a little when driving, but not nearly as bad as the start up. Dealer is quoting me $4500 for new mufflers, but there's got to be a way to avoid that. And if there is, I know the guys to ask!

Thoughts?

 

Did the sealer said you just need some new exhaust?

Did he say what was wrong with the current mufflers?

 

If it is just exhaust, you can get aftermarket exhaust or find an used stock exhaust.

I'm using Quicksilver aftermarket muffler which is about $2k:

 

Plenty of used items on eBay too.
