Thread here .

Interestingly for the U.K. MOT I’ve just had a front lower arm with a ball joint replaced .
part was £102 + VAT ,I think it came from Eurocarparts .There would have been a bit of trade discount .
Labour was about £120 to fit it by a local spannerman .
He did say he was surprised by the number of parts from Audi / VW with there logos stamped on .

looking at the internet the OEM marked in a Bentley package seems ridiculously expensive.

If you have access to a hydraulic press or you can make your own bushing pullers the bushings are replaceable. As long as the ball joint side is still good. I replaced several bushings including the really big one. Yes these bushings are shared with Audi and Volkswagen. Make sure to measure the outer diameter of the bushing and make sure the one you're getting is the same. The large control arm bushing is about 3 in. This one is difficult to remove and can be done in the vehicle if you have a lift.

A member purchased either Volkswagen or Audi parts he went to RockAuto. He bought all the front control arms, big savings. Look back about 6 months ago on the Forum.

Beleive it or not I replaced all arms for the front end for $340
Had I paid someone else to do it I’m sure it wouldn’t have been a such pretty price

My FRONT WISHBONE CONTROL ARM are defect. I find following offer www.ebay.de/itm/4x-MEYLE-HD-Querlenker-Vorne-oben-verstarkt-Audi-A6-C6-A8-4E-VW-Phaeton-3D/201489141215?fits=Model%3APhaeton&hash=item2ee9b04 ddf:g:9LUAAOSwTzhfGnOH

According to my information and part numbers from the VW Phaeton should be the same like Bentley GT.. What do you think? I will order the strong version (Meyle HD)
Can you prefer that?

The part numbers of the order are: 4E0407505B, 4E0407506B, 4E0407509B, 4E0407510B. My Chassis number (last 7 number) C03 4754 (Bentley GT, W12, from 08/2005)

Thanks a lot for your helps
Wish you a nice evening

Can

You have got the correct part numbers, although there has previously been discussion about whether the letter suffix (last letter) is correct and whether it refers to a different hardness of rubber in the Bentley application.

The price for the kit is good, but I worry about the quality.

You will find the same parts on Autodoc even cheaper.

Personally I would only use OEM quality, such as Lemforder - you can see my pick list here in post #5 : https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...end-parts.html which includes links to Autodoc parts

@Bentley_Germany ,
I agree with @Dark Green 's comments as to fitment, as I have no idea, for the Bentley I go OEM only, like Bentley parts USA, or straight to the dealership parts department for parts involving suspension, wheel bearings, brakes, but I also agree as the questioning of quality, I replaced all the upper and lower control arms on both sides, along with both outer tie rods, and sway bar links on my 05 Audi A8L W12 back in 2016, you can see in my order sheet copied below that I ordered all Meyle HD for the upper control arms, links, tie rods, well, within 5000 miles the sway bar links were clunking, I went to the Audi dealer to get replacements, as I had done back in 2012, so the oem dealership lasted a little over 4 years and say 35000 miles, where as the Meyle lasted less then a year, within a few months of replacing the links, the Meyle HD tie rod on the drivers side was loose in the socket, so I replaced both, I will add that the Meyle HD rode harsh for a while, and also harsh stiff in cold weather, just my thoughts, next time I will go all OEM.

Unless these kits have been proven to be of better quality since 2016.

I had my front control arms including ball joints and bushings replaced here in Canada by my local shop. (Not Bentley dealer). $348 x 4 for parts. My mechanic used Audi parts. I believe he said it was same part number as Bentley, but half the price. So including $500 labour, I was under $2000.
