Tire Pressure

Are you all keeping your tire pressures at these levels? Was surprised to see them so high on the standard wheels and tires.

Seems very high, is that not the pressure for "super fast"? When you go in the menu where you can see the actual pressure, then you can see it for 3 different speeds (normal, fast, super fast). The pressure on the label is what I see on the display for super fast --> German Autobahn.

I use COLD in front 2.8bar, rear 2.6. So I get 3.0-3.1bar and 2.8 when it is driven on the autobahn in Germany with speeds above 250km/h.
I only tried once the maximal pressure as said on the label in the door, the comfort of the car was gone. Completely gone

Here is the sticker from my FS, you can see the "normal" speed and faster. The "superfast" is only on the multimedia-device visible.

On my 2005 Continental, I knocked 5 psi off both the front and rear and the car rides better.

What is your definition of ';better'? More soft and squishy?

Higher pressure on the fronts contributes to much better handling, unless you prefer riding on a luxobarge.

Not me.

Worn front control arm bushes can mimic harshness at correct pressures leading owners to run lower .
Also left of field check there’s no run flats been accidentally fitted , they have a stiffer side wall and give a very harsh ride with the GT .

I find BCGT extremely tyre pressure sensitive regarding ride comfort with my std 19 Muliners on summer Pirelli’s.
How ever on winter Dunlop’s as recommended in the hand book the rides vastly improved and there’s a greater width of pressures which don’t seem to change the ride or handling .Obviously I don’t tend to push the handling in winter conditions on the winters .

My car has PZero Neros on it. At full pressure, they feel hard and noncompliant on the road. Take off 5 psi and they feel just right. And no the handling is not better at the higher pressure.

My 2005 Phaeton takes 39 on the fronts. My 2005 Bentley (same suspension) takes 49 (they say).

I have no idea what tires came on these cars from the factory. I hope the Bentley Police don't catch me underinflating! :0

Interestingly the tyre labels on the B pillars mention the load 105 and the speed Y rating but don’t mention the B1 spec .
Pirelli and Bentley worked together to develop a suitable tyre as Rico infers .
The actual P Zero Rosso ( in what ever size ) for the BCGT should be a B1 spec not any P zero .
The B1 version had the correct side wall stiffness Pirelli specifically make the P Zero for Bentley .
I don’t know if a B1 has a harder or softer sidewall compared to a none B1 P zero .Tread pattern is identical.
i,am assuming the compound is the same, but it could be harder due the excessive front end scrub potential due to the weight .
I think N is Porsche’s tyre symbol. A C4 is all wheel drive but lighter at the front and has variable torque front / rear .

Early BCGT ,s are like Subaru’s - plain straight 50/50 drive split front / rear .
later modals and super sports ( from Audi / Porsche parts bin ) got the variable split 4 WD to enhance the rear drive sporty feel .

So is it possible there’s a few on here with P zeros that aren’t B1 spec ?

This may account for the variations reported in the ride Vs pressure debate .Then toss in a bit of front control arm bush degradation.

So first of all we need a level playing field ....are we talking P zero B1 specs or another P zero ?

Otherwise we talking apples and pears l
