Guys, I'm about to purchase tomorrow a 2009 CGT Speed hardtop with Saphire blue exterior and Mulliner saddle brown interior with upgraded 20" Speed wheels. Car has only 15 k miles and totally checks out as legit. It is absolutely gorgeous.
Is there anything I should look for specific to the 2009 model, or have I hit the CGT lottery?
Much thanks lads for all your insights shared since the day I joined until this special day tomorrow. Will share specifics and pics after purchase complete.
Congrats on tomorrow’s big purchase. Post some pics of them handing you the keys! And make sure your getting 2 keys and possibly a valet key but you want two keys. If not have them lower the cost at the amount it’s going to take get another set made. Or have them do it for free 😂

Good point - thanks sir!
What is the cost of a replacement key?
I'm talking to the seller a couple times a day and he sounds solid. Pics include a pic of one key and a Bentley cell phone. Will ask about 2 keys. Any info on that phone?

I can't recall the exact amount but it was close to $800 if not more. They have to disable your existing key and recode the new ones to your kessy (sp). They gave me two options, just the two new keys or the two keys with a valet. I had to give them my vin and they had to order the keys from Germany (what they told me). Thats not how it was suppose to be done but the dealer was two and a half hours from me. So I had to pay for it over the phone. But since mines was an 06 I received the newer style keys. Call your local dealer and ask them how much would it be. I found that each dealer price is a little different. Not by much but it's a difference.

I was told by the last shady dealer that's no longer used so take it with a grain of salt that Gen1 keys are no longer available and if you have a Gen1 car you need to have all keys replaced with Gen2 keys ordered from Bentley directly at 550 each roughly plus programming the keys plus something had to be done to the immobilizer allegedly so it could be a couple thousand. I'd call your local dealer say you want to order a key and get a quote with install but explicitly tell them it's a Gen1 key.

I would say this is true. I had to get second gen keys when I had mines done. Now it wasn’t $550 each tho! But they need your vin because they have to program the immobilizer to your car. The keys actually comes from the U.K. as they don’t stock them and if I remember correctly the ppl at Crewe has to program them.
Hello All,
I just went and checked my emails from when I ordered the "Key Service Kit" which contained two Gen 2 keys at $620.00 USD, and just so everyone is on the same page as to why the VIN is required, first as proof you own the vehicle, as I scanned and emailed documents for both vehicles in my rebuild to prove what I was doing, and that the vehicle was mine, BUT the main reason for supplying the VIN is to have the key blade cut to match your vehicle, it has nothing to do with programming, just like when my new Gen2 keys came into Bentley of Edison, said dealer wanted me to have the vehicle flat bedded into their shop to program said new keys, I did it myself with the Ross-Tech and Car-Prog, I used Car-Prog to read the SKC and with said 4 digit code and adding a zero in front of the four digits Ross-Tech programs the new keys.

Hello MBi,
As I said in my comment, I got my key set from Bentley Of Edison, I dealt with Steve Rivera in parts, I did get a shop price when I ordered, at $620 and no tax.
Scuderia has a 2 key master service key kit at $478.00 as shown depicted as #1,
or the 3 key kit, 2 master, and 1 valet at $623.00 depicted as #2 in the diagram.

Hello MBi,
No, I have never used them for any service, I only get my parts there, and just to be clear, they did not program the keys either, I programmed them with my Ross Tech and CarProg.
