Well, what can I say. After buying my first Bentley just 3 months ago, Ive been blown away by these vehicles. Im an ex used dealer from the Uk for 25 years, so thats saying something after a huge array of cars . It was a 2008 Diomond black Continental GT Convertible with just 29,000 kilometers on it. So now, already...... its time to upgrade. Ive just bought a 2015 Continental Convertible V8S in Kingfisher blue thats been optioned to the hilt. Take a look at my pride possession and please give me your feedback
Looks nice young and fresh , ideal for the climate .
Has it got carbon brake discs ? If so interesting to follow the ownership experience.
One theory the wear ( and time to change ) is determined in the Ferrari world by removing them @ service time and weighing them .
Not sure what Bentley propose to do ?
With standard steel disks service life is determined by measuring the thickness .
I have heard mixed reports with carbon ceramic disks .
Premature failure , well not fail as such but replaced early or the opposite they last longer than steel .
They always end up with a bigger bill over std steel .
Performance wise CC are superior there’s no doubt ........but depending on your type of driving I guess most owners don’t track Bentley GT C , s .
Possibly buy into CC disks on super sport tin top but again due to its mass it ain’t gonna corner ( or lap faster ) than a 1000-1300 kg Lotus or Italian exotic .
Any how nice bar room bragging rights big cars with CC disks .
Yes, Carbon Ceramic brakes are fitted and they pull your teeth out. Very interesting what you say about weighing them at service time John.
Thanks Gene.
Me too Samhain.
Hi, My continental gt speed is fitted with ceramics, its a 2008 with 55,000 miles on it and the wear at the last service was 30% fronts 20% rears, the only thing i dont like about them is the awful noise they sometimes make backing out of the garage.

How did they establish those wear percentages quarryman ?
Thinking of going V8;, next time myself .
Can I ask what are your thoughts on the driving experience differences .You are in a nice place to get a handle on the differences .
I appreciate a lighter front end so should be a better cornering feel ?
Better up to date torque distribution front / rear .= sportier feel to powering out of corners ?
Almost the same hp maybe 10 % less and bit less torque , but the W12 is arguably overkill anyhow so there is plenty of room for a bit less ......is it noticeable in every day driving city and long runs ?
Finally the MPG or “ gas’s mileage ......noticeable difference?
I use mine to actually do what the name suggest GT across the EU , so was thinking may as well run 8 cylinders as opposed to 12 in a save the planet 1/2 hearted way .

Yes John, This being the V8S differs from the V8 in terms of a lowered suspension height of 10mm also stiffer suspension amongst a host of other tricks in the set up. Its definitely a lighter front end that turns in a lot quicker than my W12. The larger 21" wheels with lower profile tyres adds to the ride experience, I do feel more bumps in the road, but nothing of concern. Peak torque is at 1700 revs and I certainly recall the W12 picking up from insanely low revs, however once the V8 winds up, its even quicker to 100kph than the W12. A much sportier ride altogether. I love the fuel consumption, or should I say lack of it, Cylinder deactivation helps. Im using towards half what I was, with a more sportier feel and a far superior sound with the upgraded sports exhaust and that fimiliar V8 growl, its a winner.
