I need your advices pls on my GT

I have a 2007 Bentley GT with 54k miles that I really love which is currently at the shop due to clean water damage my insurance company is offering to settle $46k or if am interested in keeping the car they would give me $24k. Then someone just offered me a 2014 Mercedes g550 for $56k with 70k miles . Which way should I go pls? Keep my beautiful Bentley and see if someone could help unlock the engine or just get the money and buy the g550 Mercedes?

Depending on if you owe anything still on your Bentley and your credit is cool, seeing how you love the Bentley, I personally would take the $46k and get a newer one 😂.
2008-10. Less miles hopefully. As much as I like Mercedes..I had one and it was nice (actually still have it, just haven’t drove it in about 10 yrs, it’s in storage) I have a certain feeling when driving the Bentley. And seeing that I have only seen 2 others in my area, I like to be different sometimes.

If you decide on the 2014 Mercedes g550 you won't get the prime valet parking that you will with the Bentley. They like to park them where the public sees them at their establishments. Also you will be among the many numbers of the Mercedes group, not worth a second look. I agree with Team Jones if you love it stay with a newer model. If you keep looking you will find a very nice one for an affordable price.

Don't know how much Bentleys are in the US, Its speaks for its self, take the money from the insurance company & go buy a new Bentley. Why go through the rigmarole of getting it fixed it may just be a simple few grand fix or it could be an engine pull then your in big money.
As the guys say merc's are a beautiful car but a Bentley is something else.
Before you make a decision why not go look at a few you proberly get a good deal as you'll have hard cash to deal with Lol ...

I actually found a 2013 GT with 23k miles but has a rebuilt/salvage title. Carfax says isevere accident front impact reported in 2016 but airbag did not deploy . Car looks very beautiful,in great condition and tempting but the rebuilt/salvage title is kinda scary. Owner asking $51k. No lights in the car. Your thoughts pls.

Its tempting but you got to look at this way, what will the next person say when you want to sell it, I understand its a light front damage & its been repaired.
Have you seen all the paperwork on the work that was carried out when damaged. Bills & so on ...
What do you mean there are no lights in the car ...

Lol ... ok
Well if the car checks out & you've seen all the repair bill so you know the work was carried out professionally then I cant see any problems.
How does the price match up with other Bentley's with no damage recorded. As I mentioned I have no idea of prices in the US.
You could have a independent inspection carried out.
Do you have any pictures you can post ...

I will ask for pictures from the dealer in the morrow. He wants 51k compared to other 2013s that are going for mid 70s and higher. Also I will try to post the engine pictures

#1 reason I’m taking plenty of pictures and keeping the shop invoice so when it’s time to trade/sell I can show it was minor/cosmetic damage and nothing frame related. If I can’t get what I want I guess it will die with me 😂

One thing I have taken away from joining this group is the next Bentley I buy if I buy another one, is to take my laptop with me and when going for a test drive to drive it for about 30 miles and pull over to check for codes!!!

How car I advertise this to potential buyers??? Lol Go for a test drive and I can meet you somewhere to scan the car and email you the file by the time you get back to the dealership or homeowners home and you can better haggle on the price or not buy it at all 🤔🤔🤔 Time to brain storm.

Rebuilt is a different story than salvage. Rebuilt that ain't bad but if it's too low then it's suspicious for the quality of work. Have a third party inspect it throughly and ask for parts list and receipts for parts. Plus photos.

$46k seems a reasonable payout for the model year and mileage.

I'd use the money toward a newer bentley, but wouldn't waste my time on the rebuilt car, as the cost and effort to bring it to the same condition as a good example are probably a wash. (assuming this hasn't been fixed 100% by your statement that there are no lights in the car). Also, I think insurance and titling might also be an added hassle in the future, perhaps minor, but there.

Unfortunately, I've seen a lot of folks try and get bargains on co-parts and other salvage sites, only to find out the total costs exceeded the value of a pristine example and the buyers not being able to drive the cars for months or years, chasing down used parts due to the cost of factory/dealer costs. Can be done if one has the DIY ability, time and tools, but that's not where I personally want to spend my time anymore. Your situation may be different.

No problem with rebuilt cars that are 100% though, as there are some occasional bargains, but the discounts are usually not that much.
