I need your advices pls on my GT
$46k seems a reasonable payout for the model year and mileage.
I'd use the money toward a newer bentley, but wouldn't waste my time on the rebuilt car, as the cost and effort to bring it to the same condition as a good example are probably a wash. (assuming this hasn't been fixed 100% by your statement that there are no lights in the car). Also, I think insurance and titling might also be an added hassle in the future, perhaps minor, but there.
Unfortunately, I've seen a lot of folks try and get bargains on co-parts and other salvage sites, only to find out the total costs exceeded the value of a pristine example and the buyers not being able to drive the cars for months or years, chasing down used parts due to the cost of factory/dealer costs. Can be done if one has the DIY ability, time and tools, but that's not where I personally want to spend my time anymore. Your situation may be different.
No problem with rebuilt cars that are 100% though, as there are some occasional bargains, but the discounts are usually not that much.

Absolutely true on all accounts. TLC does not mean tender loving care. TLC = Time Labor Cash. To some degree buying a used luxury vehicle from an authorized dealer is safer, albeit more expensive. Many secondary dealers here in the states are buying from auction houses. CARFAX is good, it does not catch everything. Any issues repaired outside the Carfax umbrella will never be revealed. Undoubtably even some authorized dealers can be tricky. My experience in Chicago with Loeber Motors and Perillo have been positive, as examples.
I have a 2007 Bentley GT with 54k miles that I really love which is currently at the shop due to clean water damage my insurance company is offering to settle $46k or if am interested in keeping the car they would give me $24k. Then someone just offered me a 2014 Mercedes g550 for $56k with 70k miles . Which way should I go pls? Keep my beautiful Bentley and see if someone could help unlock the engine or just get the money and buy the g550 Mercedes?
So what. Everybody was encouraged by Rico to participate. That's all it is. Obviously we enjoy Rico's opinion and agree with it.😉
Personally, if I'm asking a question on a forum, I welcome multiple responses and opinions.
Also, I did not in any way perceive the multiple responses as one-upmanship as the new account holder has. (w12, 2 posts, both disparaging and discouraging of having a discourse, in my opinion)
Rather, I saw it as several folks who were having a conversation, and each adding a nuance of their opinion or new facts or information.
Their agreement, (to w12, repetitiveness) to me would solidify the consensus of a 'FORUM' (see the definition of what this is) and help me feel more assured in that I was receiving advice gained from wisdom of the collective.

Thank mate, nah its unlikely as you say they dont care, now I've got to wait for the recovery to lift it & bring me a new Bentley with any luck ... Ha Ha
That's horrible that they broke in to your car and especially about the medications being stolen. I recently put dashcams on all my family's cars. Some have a battery or capacitor so they can turn on if an impact is detected, I have some connected to run off the power from thr Obd2 port that converts the Obd2 port to the a USB female connector.
Rico I thought we talking about that dash cam, the Black Vue 2 channel one?

MBi, do you have a link to the ones you have?
Sorry to hear that Rico (oh shoot, my bad....didn’t mean to repeat what was already said)

Not sure if they offer it in the UK but there are batteries that attach to the dash cam and the cigarette lighter the Cellink neo where you may want 24/7 monitoring without killing your battery.

I'm trying to find a way to mount a rear dash cam on Convertibles. Blackvue has a external optional rear camera that's for trucks I was looking at so the Convertible top isn't an issue. Also I really just need the license plates so having the camera mounted enxt to the backup camera is what I'm considering.
