Curious if this item is typically included with a car when purchased new (or as an optional item?). I wanted to get one and noticing several preowned OEM ones on ebay in various finishes.

Unsure if these are owners that just kept them to resell for some $$$ or were even snatched from dealers/wholesalers on a traded-in vehicle to separately resell.

 

It was an option on the Bentley. Look on eBay, I found one to match our Flying Spur. It had quite a few scratches but they all polished out.

 

Yes it was an option. I recently found a used case for sale on gumtree uk, advertised for only 20 pounds. After searching high n low here in Australia online, I jumped on them. It turned out that the seller "found" them in a Land Rover that was traded in at the garage he was employed as a salesman. They arrived to me in mint condition and now safely within my Continental. Right result.

 

Just picked up this today. Won't fit my car but pretty cool
Might have to try see if I can find a centre console that fits

 

Need a Piano Black for mine, hoping the Boss got the hint and has one in my stocking for Christmas.

 

Ebay generally has some available, some seem to want ransom amounts for them. I was very lucky to find one at $89 USD + fees but others seem to be $150 and well beyond. May need to try "Best Offer" and try to get lucky. One guy would not budge off $180, just need to be patient.

One item of note, I have two sets of Bentley frame eyeglasses/sunglasses and neither of them allow the lid to completely close. I have a pair of Tag Heuer eyeglasses that are thin which seem to make it.

The weight and heft certainly suggests it is a quality item. Iain that red finish is slick, I like it !
