Massage seat function

What exactly moves/functions on this option? Is the operation one level or multiple degrees similar to the heating/ventilated seats?

Expect it is generally worth having vs. looking for a pre-owned model without it but is surprising to see models without it that otherwise are well-optioned.

Feels like 3 asymmetric rolling pins rotating at different points of the rotation .Think egg shaped or football shaped in x section ?
So as the they turn horizontally a high , a middle a low one depending of which part of the ( USA football ) shape you can get all three pressing hard at once or all three pressing very little or a random combination of pressure , as if they are different geared turning at slightly different rpms .
When you switch it off they all return to the min pressure position .

It can feel quite brutal if all them press the hardest at once .

Stops you falling asleep.

Does it help with lower lumber back ache on a long trip ? Nope ....I don’t think it’s a substitute for correct back rest inclination + lumber support adjustment .

Hello @txtonyo ,
Here are some pictures from my GT rebuild thread, you can see that the seat massage works by way of an air compressor, and 3 inflatable plastic air bladders positioned at the lower back.

Just the 1 level. I find the function very mild and could certainly handle more pressure.

Good information from all, much appreciated.

Johnny - in your disassembly experiences are you seeing issues arising with the operation of this massage mechanism or nothing remarkable ?
