There's a connector used on Bentley's and other VAG cars:





It has a sliding section (the pink bit in this pic), which I think locks the contacts into place.

I was trying to release some of the contacts on one of these and even though I slid the lock back out (as it is in the pic), the pins weren't loose.

Anyone have any experience with these connectors?

I learned also during my rebuild that the locking clip is just the first step of removing the wires from a connector, next you need to depress/flatten the 2 tabs on either side as shown in the video below, as I did not have the pin tool at the moment, I just used a very small flat head screwdriver, like eyeglass repair kits have.

Thanks Johnny. I'll have a look see if I have something like that in my box of trim removal tools. I think it had a set of pin extractors.
