Type of coolant to use for V8?

Is there a specific type of coolant i should use for the V8? I have a small coolant leak and want to keep a quart handy just incase i get too low by the time it gets fixed.

If its booked in to be repaired, youll be fine with regular water (if you need to) as a small top up.

It could be many things, I know you say "clear" but do you mean clear like water with no color, or does it have a shade of color ?

Ok .Have you checked the coolant level at all to actually determine it’s dropping ? Or any other fluids like brake and PS levels ?
That would be a start ! Then we know what we are talking about .
The Aircon drains its condenser over the gear box that will be “clear “ Also when humid a few pipes in the scuttle and engine compartment get condensation on them as they are cold , which is pretty normal .

When you said ‘ coolant ‘ I assumed you have already opened the expansion tank ( cold btw ) and checked the level and noticed its GREEN !! .

I agree with everything you stated John, except for the color of the coolant/antifreeze being "green", I believe that the correct color for his vehicle is the violet G13 aka purple, my 2005 requires G12 as stated on the expansion tank, and G12 is pink in color, some call it redish, G11 on the other hand in blue/green, but I have never seen a Bentley GT requiring G11...

EDIT:

In the 05-06 owners manual it stated (others have stated) "G30" is required, it turns out that G30 is G12+, and G40 is G12++, somewhat, I haven't found the equivalent of G13, because there isn't one, and there is not a BASF equivalent for straight G12 either, and,
my prior thoughts of location in the world may not be correct, it is what I read online but doesn't hold water, because I searched for G40 and G50 and found it available, so by searching more it lead me to find out that the "G40, G50, G48" etc. levels are BASF standards,
whereas the G12, G12+, G12++, and G13 are VW standards, and are somewhat the same, although there is no BASF to match VW's G13.

I state all this because someone else here awhile back also asked about why the owners manual stated "G30", that person was told by others here to use G12, when in-fact he/she should have been told to use G12+ as the equivalent to G30, that just makes me wonder why Bentley wrote G30 in the manual but printed G12 on the expansion tank... especially since G30 and G12 are equivalent to each other.

Here are some coolant charts from the internet.

Johnny.

Thank you @John Fiammetta for the clarification, being I am installing a 2011 SS engine in my rebuild, I will go with G13.

Hi @carzaddict ,
It sounds like you are describing just plain condensation water from the AC system, you didn't fill in your location on profile, so we don't know your weather condition, so please tell us.
Also, as John Fiammetta said, check all you fluids, but be safe and check the coolant level when COLD, also, how is you washer fluid, where exactly is the puddle on the ground, is the any smell at all to the fluid (sweet), or how about any oily feeling when you rub it between your finger and thumb ?

Im located in Morristown, NJ....well the car is...i physically am not there at the moment, and have been relaying things that my wife has been telling me (hence why the descriptions are so vague haha). Hope to be back in town this weekend with the car and will be able to sort things out.

good news, the car isnt leaking...and there are no spots on the floor. guess you were right, it was the AC condensation

also, was taking a look at the coolant, its a pink/orangy color..........but if i look above, you guys are telling me it should be violet/purple?
