dropping the w12 engine

Hi all,
Can the engine on a 2008 gt be lowered without removing so as to gain extra room to work on things like turbos etc.
My 911 996 turbo engine could be lowered by 6 inches without undoing anything too important this gave great access to turbo pipes and diverter valves etc.
So was wondering if this can be done with the Bentley. eg perhaps remove turbos etc
I have a small shop used for restoring classic vw campers so dont have any room for post ramps or lifts and have spent most of my adult life working on cars lying on my back....which is fine for me. So can the trans and engine be lowered enough to do work that might normally require engine out?
Thanks,

Hi @Sunnyside ,
Sorry to say, but no that is really not possible, the turbos are tucked up in there, the starter motor is behind the turbo on the rightside, the intake manifold must come off, coolant lines at radiator, expansion tank, secondary tank, turbo chargers inlet funnels, power steering lines to reservoir and cooler, transmission cooler lines on the right side only give about 1 and 1/2 inch before stretching, 3 (depending on year) fuel lines on the right side, the list goes on...
So at the point you may as well just drop it as a engine transmission package, I did the complete removal and install with no lift, see my rebuild thread linked below for the engine coming out in the beginning, but see the Supersports engine and transmission going in starting around post # 157.

I have some pictures of mine when they were working on the turbo waste gate…the whole front end of the car was disassembled. it's an enormous job, I think they quote 33 hours to take it out and put it back in and for once I believe the maintenance estimates.

I didn't really like the pictures, they're like looking at Johnny's warning lights, seeing my car apart like that was freaky. But they got it all back together with no issues, car runs like a top.
