Cost to get new Master Keys
Cost to get new Master Keys
So reached out to the local Bentley dealership to get new keys for my 2006 GT. Quoted me $940 for the pair. Does that sound right? I know its Bentley but that seems excessive.
That is correct, give or take a couple hundred dollars. If the old keys are gen1 they will have to order the gen 2 keys. they may charge you separately to program them after they come in from Crew. (250ish). Ask specifically if you will still be able to use your old key. I ordered a new set from Bentley Houston and the parts department had said I would be able to have 3. Come to find out when i had dropped off the car for a few days, they programmed the new keys and destroyed my old one! I was freakin pissed, as I told them it wasn't their property to destroy! They said that if i tried to use the old key it would lock down my car and immobilize it. I told them, if that was a possibility I would remove the battery from the old one and keep it as a spare to unlock the door.
I paid $620 for the key service kit at Bentley of Edison, it consists of two of the Gen 2 keys, I then programmed the keys myself with Ross-Tech VCDS, BUT, one is only able to program said keys with RT by having the needed SKC, which I read from the KESSY module eeprom with Carprog.
@Daniel 08 Speed ,
What exactly do you mean by "destroyed" ?
There is no reason why the dealership should not have saved and used your original key, as when the new keys are being programmed all keys must be present, as the KESSY system will remove all old keys from its use memory, so if you lost a key, or someone stole your key, it would protect you from anyone ever using the lost or stolen key, but you had the key, so there is no reason for what the dealership did, and because that is an original key to your vehicle it can always be programmed back to the vehicle.

I don't want to derail the thread, but is there actually any change made to the keys themselves when you add them?
