Suspension ? for Ross-Tech VCDS

Hello all,

My '07 GT has a very stiff suspension, it is a rocky ride over the tiniest of imperfections in the road, and I do not know why. When I change the shock settings from Comfort to Sport I do not feel a very big difference, so it feels like it is in Sports mode at all times. It raises and lowers itself just fine, so I doubt that it has to do with the air suspension.

I recently purchased the Ross-Tech VCDS, but I am very new to it. I think I am supposed to be able to test the shocks with it? Is there a guide to that somewhere, or can someone help me out with some general guidelines? Very thankful for help.

@xclens I don't know much about testing the air shocks with VCDS but did you recently change for your struts? If yes, which brand and model did you go with? If not, let's wait to hear insights from another member on this forum as how to test air suspensions with VCDS. I only thought you could calibrate it with VCDS (ie setting ride heights units to match specifications for your vehicle).

I took my Bentley to a local independent shop a couple of months back, and they looked around the front-end. They are not very familiar with Bentleys (although they work on all kinds of vehicles), but they did notice two weak front end bushings, on what I believe is called the rear control arms. So I had those replaced, and the clunky noise that I once had went away. However, it still rides very 'rough'. Perhaps I need to replace my struts? What is the best way to test the struts? I was thinking perhaps I could use Ross-Tech for that, but maybe I'm wrong..

This is one of the procedures for testing the suspension re:VCDS: go to address 34, then select output test. With the key in the ignition in the accessory mode engine not running.

https://www.ross-tech.com/vcds/tour/out_test.php

The above link is Rosstech's explanation of output tests. Otherwise query "output test vcds" for a clearer understanding".

Hopefully this reveals something relevant to reveal the problem of a harsh suspension.
