Paint or NOT?
Paint or NOT?
Good Morning. Yesterday I hired a detailing service for my father's car. Unfortunately a few months ago he accidentally brushed the car against the wall. The boy told me that he could improve it 80% and I was thinking of painting the whole car with the insurance because polishing I know for sure that it is not solved.
Now the problem is the following: can a professional painting service leave the car as when it leaves the factory? In the factory I know that they are subjected to many processes and I doubt that the painter can subject them to them.
What opinion do you have on this subject?
Thanks!!

If done properly it will last many years.
The processes done at the factory can be reproduced using modern technics and products.
You might find that the repair has to remove very little of the original primers, where bare metal has come through, modern epoxy etch primers are exceptionally good at what they do.
Modern cars get away with the bare minimal of paint product, which is why you have to be carefully if you flat and polish your car too often or harshly.
You will find a good body shop will use more product and give imho a better more durable finish.
Agree with the above. Watching the Bentley assembly videos on YouTube, the paint process looked pretty standard, with the major exception being the amount of hand polishing and perhaps more layers of clear coat vs other factory paint jobs.
Thank you very much for your answers, when I have the car in front of me I will take a photo of it.
You can't really see the metal of the car or if you see it, it is very slight. Rather, it is scratched on the surface without deforming the car's sheet metal.
