Hello, my uncle bought this carplay for a 08 gtc and the iphone start charging but He can't see in the car screen his mobile screen. Does anybody know If this carplay works in our first gen of Bentleys? Has anybody seen this before? Maybe on youtube?
i'm thinking about buying It if it works.

 

I can't see any way that's going to do anything more than work as a bluetooth adapter for sound on a 1st Gen Bentley head unit. How does the phone connect to it?

The car has a cable in the glove compartment that goes to the CD charger, this could not be adapted with an aftermarket cable?

 

To provide *music*, yes. But Carplay is a far greater integration with touchscreen control of the device and applications.

Given the Gen 1 does not even have a touchscreen, I still can't see it. But I may be mis-understanding your ask?

You have understood my question correctly, you are right, it does not work. Looking for information it says that it only works if you have wired carplay in your vehicle. With this adapter you can make it wireless.


By the way, have you ever seen this? I know you have a Benhur unit which I think is fantastic but I am a maniac of keeping everything as original as possible since I have the experience of having changed the original browser of my Porsche 997 for a touch carplay and I remember a lot of my old screen . I really only use spotify music.

 

That looks like a nice unit. The Ben HUR is great in that it gives you the option to get Car Play and decent nav and functionality but it's as clunky as hell to use and make some adjustments like damper settings. And it really does look like it escaped from the early 21st century
