Question Gears not showing on the dasboard

Think my gearbox swich is on its last days as the selected gear is not showing on the dashboard (all gears still work and change ok). Dashboard just shows all gears selected (see pic)

Any ideas where the switch is located at Bentley Flying Spur 2006?

Hello @viskiss ,
Show us a picture of your shifter, is it broken in two, as your picture shows what would be limp mode for the transmission, I recently had the white plastic piece that allows the black cover with magnets to slide smoothly over the shifter housing become dislodged, it had one section of it sticking up and catching the black cover when ever I put the transmission back into neutral, reverse, or park coming from drive, well that only lasted a few shifts before it broke the slider cover, and gave the the same as your picture shows.

A scan would also help us determine your issue.

I replaced the slider in a matter of minutes.

Interesting that the shifter 'gate' is revered for LHD cars. I wasn't expecting that.

If will need a new one, are the sliders sold separately?
Hi @viskiss ,
Yes, the slider is available separately, see ebay search listed below.

The slider has magnets in it, if either of the magnets are loose fitting or dislodged, they will not control the micro switches in the printed circuit board of the shifter I previously pictured above.

I purchased the dust cover/slider from Alpine.

But again, a picture of the dust cover while the shifter is in park, and then in drive, along with manual mode will show us all the condition of the cover itself, if the cover is in good shape, then a scan would help the best .

I had used some of the guidance from Johnny to replace my slider and also added some tips on how to do the job:
