heated Steering Wheel
heated Steering Wheel
So I'm just wondering if all Continentals actually have all the wiring in the harness and the heating elements in the wheel for the heated steering wheel and they just delete the switch to turn it on if it wasn't optioned?
That's how most modern equipment if manufactured for ease of configuration and to minimize parts inventory.

New trend about intel CPU, thay say that a.ll CPU will phisicaly the same, and you wil pay for core activation) so i've got I3 with 4 cores active and 4 waiting for your payment)) And they this is i9 with 8 cores)
Hello @sazam ,
I have 3 original Bentley GT steering wheels, my red one, a black one, and a brown/tan one with the wood surround, not one of them have the wiring for the heated wheel installed in the wheel itself, nor did either of the three steering columns have the wiring in the harness for same, and just as a further note, the GT did not have any of the wiring in place for any options that the vehicle was not equipped with from the factory, no soft close doors, not power lift and close motor for the boot lid, no satellite radio receiver.
Being that the steering wheels are hand made as to the application of the leather, I doubt that they would waste time and money adding something to that build that wasn't ordered and paid for.

I don't know about Bentley but I have a lot of experience adding factory options to other cars of mine. It is almost never simple. Wiring harnesses will be completely different. If you're lucky it just works, but sometimes you have to program the BCM and you're out of luck.

thanks again.
how big effort complexity and cost it is to get heating wheel then? was planning to buy a steering wheel with ocnfirmed heating feature but it looks like it wont help - you said, at least that i understood, it is needed the harness on steering column and now i even started to think maybe some modules change etc.
and maybe even programming via vcds.
silverstones,
thank you for comment.
