Intermittent problem

I run a 2009 GT .
The car has developed an irritating electrical problem which at present seems not to have a solution .
Randomly , when the footbrake is applied , the dashboard emits a bleep, followed by a message in the display stating
" brake light fault." The brake lights are perfect .
The message then disappears save for a small circular emblem in the top left of the display of brake shoes inside a circle. This usually disappears after a few minutes .
The next time the footbrake is applied the problem sometimes does not re-appear , and as mentioned , is entirely random .
The last time the car was serviced , the technician connected up a diagnostic laptop only to find no fault codes were recorded . Sods law dictated that the fault did not appear . The technician rightly said that he could not fix a fault which did not manifest itself .
Has anyone else come across anything similar ?
