Using charger during 2006 GT rear brake change

2006 GT Base due for rear brakes. Read Bwings 2019 thread on changing the rear brakes and wanted to know if a 2A trickle charger is enough to keep the power up during the VCDS operations or should I use a regular battery charger to provide more power? The battery charger I have is old and very basic 6/12V I don't want to put too much power into the system by fault. Any suggestions?

I don't think that is nearly enough power. When the parking brake goes through it's reset procedure it really does suck up a lot of juice. I would have a proper charger on it, not a battery tender. This is from experience (changing rear brakes on my 3 Bentley GT's) not simply my opinion.

Thanks Paul, agree. Went through the process to recalibrate a new PB switch and having the battery on a regular charger was the right thing to do. Also, when I went to remove the VCDS connector put my hand on the seat and found out I left the seat heater on!! Now I know why the battery was so depleted. LOL Learn something new about this car every day.
