New here! Having a weird idle issue

Hey everyone,

I just bought a 2014 Flying Spur and love the car. I’ve been doing a lot of research to try and learn about maintenance and common problems with our cars. I wanted to get your take on a problem.

Whenever the car is cruising at 52ish mph and in 7th gear, it jolts.

it seems to be related to the throttle because if press it just enough to barely accelerate it’s fine or if I’m over 55 about to shift into 8th gear.

runs great at 45ish in 6th.

So I put it in sport an manually shift it into 6th and everything is fine or if I go over 55 in 8th everything is fine.

Has anyone experienced this or have any advice on where to start? Seems like vacuum leak or throttle positioning sensor maybe?

Thank you!

Update: Also, no check engine lights or anything, car seems to accelerate awesome like no loss of power or anything.

Update: I think the car had bad gas maybe from sitting to long before I bought it. After running a full tank through, it seems to be running perfectly!

Welcome! 2014 FS owner since 3/21

We have the same car and really enjoy it! I am having an issue with the trunk not closing, but all-in-all everything has been enjoyable. Good to hear you were able to sort out the "non-issue" and hopefully you will get many miles of hassle-free enjoyment!
Welcome to the forum!

I have a W12 and it is very sensitive to types of gas. BP, Shell & Sunoco 93 is fine, here in Florida any other is highly suspect and makes the car hesitate, like it's not running on all twelves. Careful don't even think of putting 91 cause that also triggers it.

Most states only have 91
never noticed hesitation
