Multiple electrical problems after low battery

My wife let my son drive the Bentley and of course he left the lights on and then tried to jump it. He claims not to have mixed up the cables but I don't have much faith in that claim. Now the ac isn't blowing cold. None of the suspension buttons work and the digital read out in the center above the steering wheel is blank. Any ides if this is a master fuse or maybe just many small fuses?

Have you driven it yet? Many of the electrical issues/warning lights may disappear after you take the car around the block and the computers and sensors get reacquainted.

I haven't driven it since we charged the batteries back up yet. No bad fuses from what I can tell. The bid block fuses I can't tell though. The power steering doesn't seem to work either.

Hello @355spider ,
First thing that comes to mind with you stating that not only is the AC not working, but the power steering also, I would check the serpentine belt, sounds like he lost the belt, which does everything, AC, PS, Cooling (water pump), Alternator (charging), don't run the engine without it, you don't want to overheat it.

As far as the mega fuses, use a test light to check each side of each fuse for power, you have mega fuses on the left, and blade fuses on top of the right side battery, also many fuses under the hood, but start with the left house battery mounted fuses.

Not to cause problems in the household, but I would ask your son to show you how he hooked up the jumper cables, house battery, starter battery, or both ?

Also, for future reference, if he left the lights on, that would only drain the house battery, then either automatically, or by turning the ignition switch to the left, then back to right on position, puts the battery parallel switch into action for emergency start.

Check the four mega fuses on the face of the battery, and I believe there in one more on top.

Then check the blade fuses on top of the starter battery.

I had these problems when I got the car and when I had it in a shop it came back without any of them. I think they must have disconnected the batteries to work on it. I'll try this as well. Is there any special procedure to disconnecting and reconnecting the batteries?

Well I disconnected both negative terminals for about 10 minutes and reconnected. Nothing changed. I saw a post where someone had the computer reset remotely but i can't remember the thread. I also checked all the big fuses with a multimeter and it looks like they are all good. In between dying inside the garage in Texas 104 degrees of course.

@355 Spider ,
Have you verified that both batteries are fully charged and reading the proper voltage ?

Also, you didn't respond to the condition of the serpentine belt, is it in place ?

Are you saying that when you first got the car these same issues were present, no power steering, no AC, and a blank center screen, if so, what was the fix ?

What happens if you do the emergency start tuning the key to the left ??

I take it the engine runs, though.

Belt is good and batteries are charged. Engine runs fine. Drove it 30 miles today. Tried the key trick and no dice. The last time it just came back from the mechanic without those problems. He never said he fixed it and I wasn't charged for anything related to that. I assumed it fixed itself.

hi,
this hit me too... i bought the car recently, did not drive for few days, but my curiosity forced me to start engine / keep it for few seconds, maybe 1-2mins max, stop engine few times... just because wanted to "test" smth...
and today i disarmed the alarm, opened the car, no issue, windows went down 1cm, but then after i closed the door, they did not went back to full close...
i opened door again, seat .. not working, the infotainment = turns on / turns off... display blinks... the breitling clock = started to turn back the time
okkkkk... and of course i was not able to open the trunk... not again! fighting with this ****ty **** behind the backseats...

i somehow managed to open the trunk via emergency method but it was a nightmare... the electro-lock i think kept the trunk still closed even i moved the **** to the limits of posibilities to turn it right

connected ctek to left battery (bought msx 7.0 few days ago) - showed battery fully discharged... (control diode on ctek is on lowest chargin level)
now the charging in progress for 1.5hour

and... issue is... the doors still does not go windows up 1cm to full close...
q1: how to fix that? it will go back on fully charged, and should be patient, or should i do any procedure....

ps. btw - i even tried the turn left ignition switch and turn right and start the car, but no success...
q2: does it mean i have both batteries dead...?

no idea what else will be an issue ... for now the light in the car started to be more powerful and infotainment system normally is welcoming me... did not checked anything else so far

@sazam ,
Yes, number one rule with these temperamental creatures, be patient... 🚷

Check both batteries for charge level, maybe even a load test depending on their age.

When you turned the key to the left, di you hold it to the left for a few seconds, you should be able to hear the parallel solenoid kicking in when you turn and hold the key to the left, maybe even open the pass-thru access for better sound transfer form the boot to the interior, I would definitely test it for future use, it is located above the starter battery on the right side facing the boot.

@355spider ,
What was your outcome since July ?

Johnny

@sazam ,
I use this battery/load tester, the batteries remain connected.
This tester is nice, gives state of charge, plus state of health, along with other readings.

Video of tester.

i did not done the test with ignition left for 3 sek because i am still chargin the battery but...

was sitting in the car to play and learn some stuff from infotainment etc and not sure if this was correlated with any of my activities there - 95% zero correlation - but from time to time i heard a kind of buzz sound any relay or smth in the trunk - what it is?
