hi,
I have confirmation from bentley dealer that my car (basing on vin decoding) has tpms.
However, I went into VEHICLE menu on central panel, and I got this:
You will need the Ross-Tech VCDS or ODIS VAS 5054 to open #19 CAN-BUS to have it rescan the vehicle for installed modules, this is done by going in #19 and entering 000006, but be sure that your wheels each have their sensors installed, otherwise you will then have a constant fault warning on the dash for TPMS.
In case you didn't find it, it is fuse number 11 in the boot.

Thank you so much John, indeed the previous owner removed the fuse. Long time did not take care of it, but I plan to go to the shop - they have sensor detectors. First will see what they find.
Then - probably the sensors are dead - will think about replacement. Heard that AUTEL solution is good, so will try it. Unless you have a better idea for replacement. Pls share.
Hi,
I have this disabled (fuse out) by previous owner.
Did a radio-test in the workshop - all of the sensors are dead.
Now, I am about to fix it - the workshop suggests to add universal sensors... autel or other and program it. I think they told about other brand but dont remember what.
On the other hand I read this in GEOs manual:
"Tyre pressure monitoring system is of poor design and can even give problems - see "disabling TPMS""
- poor design + give problems - so basically I understand, even if i will invest in sensors, installation, reconfig, programming, I still may have humors of tpms?
Anyone who decided to have it running , invested in new sensors etc - pls comment - have you had problems with it even adding brand new univ sensors?
Just want to avoid investment if it just wont work anyway or will be anoying...
If you check & maintain tire pressure regularly, as I'm sure you do, repairing/adding TPMS will do nothing to enhance the value or safety of your car so I wouldn't bother with it.
hi, I plan to buy AUTEL tpms sensors - european version. The shop (seller) does not have experience with bentley specifically etc, and they asked if they need to set ID per sensor or not? And asked me for ID if yes.
Is this required in GT? What is the format of the IDs to make it alive. I can not check in any way cause my sensors are fully dead / not installed (removed) by previous owner.
ps. The seller upon purchase is programming sensors to given car model, year etc and sends them ready to use.
So theoretically I should not even ask the installing workshop to do any extra programming steps etc. - just plug and play.
Hello @sazam ,
I am not sure as to the MHz of the TPMS on your side of the pond, here we have 433MHz for the 2005 GT, but more importantly, the 2005 is a split year for the type of sensor installed in each wheel, as the antennas/receivers in each wheel well are also different between the early 05 and late 05.
What does the scan of module #65 show, had you changed that module, I may have you confused with another member who had water in the area of said module, and swapped it out.
I am sorry @Johnny Hotspur GT - missed this to answer - yes - i am prior may and the workshop said they coded it right.
I called direct Autel distributor and they invited me to visit their authorized resseler / and installation workshop to make sure all is ok on their side but this workshop is located some distance in a direction i never do business etc so I had no time to do a dedicated travel to them but it is in plan for next week or rather week after.
I am going through a similar challenge, although the TMPS was never disabled.
I have ordered Autel dual band + Autel programming tool.
It helps to experiment faster without the need to drive to the shop.
I also checked with the tool that all my installed sensors are dead. No signal from them.
In the car I see that it fails to learn, not getting any values. Which makes sense assuming the sensors are dead.
I have checked Key KOB to confirm it is 433Mhz. The key uses the same antenna as the TMPS sensors, so that's one of the way to confirm the frequency.
Actually, I thought i have 315Mhz because my car is american. So better to check. Some also use 433Mhz in NOAR.
I also have CGT 2005, so I checked the OEM with the dealer, to ensure the right programming is applied.
Now, I need to program the Autel TPMS and mount them on the wheels. This is important because the TPMS come empty - not pre-programmed (in my case)
It says TPMS have to be programmed with 0psi or better before mounting.
Then my expectation that the car will learn new values after some driving.
My hypothesis is that many people give up on TPMS because of wrong combination of TMPS, programming, antennas and the module itself. Over time some things get replaced and many people don't have clue what they are installing and how it works together. So it is easier for the customer to remove the fuse and get the module disconnected from CAN (this is what the famous manual suggest).
