I purchased a 2012 Mulsanne in May 2012. I drove for about a week and used the paddle shifters. An Orange shifter unlock button warning light appeared in the center screen in the dashboard. The Orange warning light is an exclamation point with a dashes encircling the !

My Ross Tech VCDS shows "Address 81: Gear Shift (J587) Labels: 3Y0-927-731.clb Part No SW: 3Y0 927 731 A."

P17EC 00 [137] - Electrical Malfunction

Has anyone had this problem? Any advice to solve the problem would be greatly appreciated too. Thank you.

 

The problem is solved for now. Removed the Bentley shifter ****. Uncoverd the automatic transmission shifter box in the center console. Disconnected the electrical connections from the shifter box to the transmission. Cleaned all shifter **** and box electrical connections (both sides) with 99%+ alcohol. Treated each side of the connections on the shifter box and the shifter **** with Stabilant 22. Make sure that the all connectors on both sides and both the **** and shifter box are dry before reassembly. This process cleared the fault code at location 81 using my Ross-Tech VCDS.
