Locked out - 2006 Bently Flying Spur
A friend has a 2006 Continental Flying Spur 4-DOOR with 2 dead batteries so the doors and trunk will not open. There is slight front end damage and the hood supposedly won't open. According to the her there are no key slots in the doors or trunk. How does one gain access to the inside of the car and trunk in order to charge the batteries. One thought I had was to lift the car and crawl under to see if I could connect the positive clip of a battery charger to the positive terminal of the starter solenoid and the negative terminal to ground which should charge the batteries, assuming I could get access to the solenoid, so I could get the doors and trunk open. However, I understand the car must be in jack mode to lift the car without damage to the suspension and to do that the batteries must be charged. What options do I have to open the car and trunk? In a quandary.....
I'm surprised if there's no keyhole in the door, I just checked mine (2009 Flying Spur Speed) and there certainly is. I'm not sure whether cabin fusebox is powered when ACC/IGN is off, but if it is and you get in, the easiest way is to insert a male abiko spade to the + -pole of one of the fuses and feed it with a low current battery charger until there's enough juice to pop the trunk.
Knowing how tricky these cars with dead batteries can be, I've thought about routing a hidden AWG6 wire from the emergency power pole near the firewall to the front of the car, behind a bumper, so that there's always a way to feed charge into the batteries even when you're completely locked out.
