I got to thinking, what if an egt failed so you disconnect the busted sensor and plugged in a new one and ran it outside the exhaust manifold until your in a position to get the car back home and have the broken egt removed with the dpecialist tool.
Would the engine management ecu'e see the connected new egt and assume its just cool as it wouldn't be in the exhaust. For that matter plug a new sensor on the other side leaving the old but good sensor inplace. That way both would read a cool exhaust ?
Just thinking out aloud here but........?

i think it wont work, the sensor must give right signals in the range of 900+ celsius degree

i can imagine fooling ecu by passsing signal from the working egt will work

When I had my Conti', the main dealer in Cheshire said it was an engine out job when I found that a cam sensor was faulty. The Indie in Crewe disagreed and had the job sorted in about half an hour and a couple of hundred quid.
I wonder how many poor souls have been ripped off like that?

They are accessible at the back of the engine from above. The Indie at Crewe was involved with the design of the GT, so he knows them inside out.
