Is the parking brake switch fused?

Getting an “no parking“ error display on my dash.

Usually, the Parking switch on the console lights up when an activated. There is no light so, either the switch is bad or if there’s a fuse, the fuse blew.

I had to remove the center console cover to do some work on the infotainment system. It is definitely plugged in so I know that’s not the issue. But, it was working fine until I removed the console.

Hello @08GTC ,
Can you tell us, or post a picture of the exact message on dash, I don't ever recall seeing a "no parking" message.

As to this just happening as part of your removal of the console and switching, let me ask, does everything else on the console work, such as the mirror switch, as I kind of recall having an issue years back, and I remember thinking, "well, this is dumb", as two of the plugs have the same mold, and could be switched and plugged into the wrong item, I am thinking it was the brake switch and mirror switch, but not the multi switch panel, as both the mirror switch and the brake switch are 10 pin plugs.

As a matter fact, I did not notice this the other day because I was focused on that parking light… The mirror switch does not work.

And yes, it was a direct consequence of the radio change out when I had to remove the console.

I think you hit it on the head. I very likely switched plugs. Once again thank you for the one target diagnosis !

Hey, I got this (P) sign randomly - once per few drives. What may be the issue? What it indicates?
It shows up and do not disappear. Then turn car off and on again and everything is fine.
