I have just replaced my 2006 Gen 1 with a nice 2013 Gen 2. The glove box catch has broken off and it seems like a simple fracture of the plastic inner part inside the latch. It seems to me that I could buy a used box on Ebay, and swap out the plastic part. Another option is to buy the full catch mechanism from Scuderia at about $185 and fit it into my box. Only problem is that I have no idea how to drop the box, have seen nothing on the internet. Should be quite simple, but any guidance would be much appreciated, or suggestions welcomed. TIA
Can you pull the panel above the glove box with plastic panel removal tools? You may be able to get a better look. Be careful though, airbag back there.
Hello @Hortonm44 ,
The Gen 2 is definitely a different glovebox setup, but, I think the mounting is similar to Gen 1, I have added some pictures of the Gen 2 glovebox assembly below, see my green indicators, if you open the GB door and look up, kind of like your on your back looking up, you should see 2 or 3 screws in the recessed areas across the top, then either 1 or 2 down each side.
Be careful of wiring and plugs, depending on which options you have in your GB.
That is a tremendous help. I found the screw locations easily and the photos are exactly my set up. Just waiting for the agency that sole me the car to get in the new latch assembly and I will give it a go. I assume the felt linings come off with a gently prying like most things Bentley.

@Hortonm44 ,
Sorry but, your "felt linings" comment has me confused, the felt on the inside of the glovebox is part of the enclosure, it does not come off, kind of like it is sprayed on, which makes me think, did I read you situation wrong, is the broken piece on the dashboard side of the glovebox, or one of the two pieces on the door itself ?
It is actually the latch that is broken and fallen out. As you can see from the photos, part of the plastic backing piece is broken. I just need to get inside the door and either replace the mechanism, or perhaps buy a used door on EBay and simply replace the plastic piece. In the meantime, I can open the glove box with my finger on the lever inside, so this is not something that is urgent to be fixed. Just don't want it to turn into a bigger job than it needs to be
