Dashboard noise

Hoping for some help. It sounds like the air con fan is on low , when it isn't it isn't on at all. It is only a low sound but, it's there and I can't unhear it. Being a new owner I'm not sure if it a normal noise or, something else.

I have tried to send a video but it says my file is too large and I am not savvy enough to know how to make it smaller

Try sending just an Audio file???
That should be smaller.
@Johnny Hotspur GT is a Mod on here so he should be able to explain down loading large video content.

Hello @Pezza ,
Please give us some more information, is it only when the engine is running or the ignition switched on, do you have cooled seats in your 2007 GTC, if so, have you checked to see that both are off ?

Is the residual heating set to on, therefore it blows heat at a slow speed with the engine off.

As far as a video or sound clip, resize/compress the file to fit, or, upload your video to UTube if you have a uTube account, then paste the link to the uTube video in a post here.

Johnny

Hi Johnny,
yes, it is only on when the engine is running, or switched on.
it doesn't have cool down seat, only heated seat seats which, work very nicely by the way.
I don't have a you tube account but will look to get one in the morning. The difference in noise between the fan being on the first setting and off, is hardly noticeable but, air definitely flows from the vents when it is on, and none when it is off.

@Pezza ,
Makes me wonder if you are hearing the fan in the Infotainment head unit, if so, that's some great set of ears you have..

Let's hope it is something simple, can you pinpoint left, right, or center, if on the left, and more of a hum, I would check the vacuum pump, located behind the wheel well liner.

Johnny

Hi, Thanks for your replies. I wish I had the knowledge you have.
the noise is from the centre and, is faint but, is there.
the only other thing with the car is a humming noise from the front. It's only there when I'm driving and gets louder when I accelerate.

Any chance it’s the power steering pump? Check the fluid reservoir as the pipes in the wheel arch corrode and leak.

Sorry Alistair D, should have asked, is that for the dashboard noise, or accelerator noise?
