Hello All,
I thought about whether or not to post this, and came to the conclusion that I should, as I have tried to respond to some, but not all, and I have / had missed calls, texts, pm's, and even someone trying to contact me through Instagram.
My issue is personal, but I will share with you all.
I had an accident where some deer ran out in front of me, I slammed on the brakes but caught a little one with my passenger (LHD) front corner, as I jumped out to look at the damage, it became clear to me that I did not put the Range Rover L405 Autobiography LWB into PARK, I swear I turned that rotary **** to P, anyway, as I ran to keep up hanging onto the door with my left hand trying to jump back in (IIRC), I tripped and fell under the vehicle, which then the drivers side rear tire ran over both legs and flipped me around a bit, as painful as that was lying in the middle of the road in the dark, I was more concerned about the vehicle hitting another person/vehicle, or running into someone's home as I watched it roll down the road what seemed to be almost 800 feet or more, pain turned into adrenaline and getting myself up off the ground and running after the vehicle, you can imagine the screaming coming out of my mouth for the vehicle to stop, and it did, it slowed to a crawl and veered right to the grass area and to a stop, then I took myself to the hospital the next day.
So, I ask for some time in any responses, and only post this so that some may not be offended by my lack of response on certain matters, as I am only conversing through my cellphone, no laptop for wiring diagrams and such.
On the humorous side of the matter, the Doctors, Nurses, Nurses Assistants, and staff at Penn Medical / Princeton Medical Center were all great, one Doctor said I was "Strong like Bull", another Doctor said I was "his Hero", "you got ran over, picked yourself up, and got to the hospital, wow !", so here I am 16 days later recovering still, not one pain pill at all, thankfully, I can walk, and only 3 days in the hospital, I would have liked to stay longer, great caring people.
I feel you. I spent almost three weeks on ICU some 20+ years ago, having a series of surgeries to my legs. Had to learn to walk again and eventually I did. Get well soon and remember: NEVER give up.
Hey Johnny, thanks for your reply to my message about the tranny swap. I’ll share more details on my intentions later.
I just saw what happened with your accident, really sorry to hear that, and I hope you recover quickly. Unfortunately, my family and I have had similar experiences with the same car L405 Autobiography. One time, I jumped out to buy food at a crowded night market and, out of habit, pressed the start/stop button to turn off the engine, thinking it would shift into Park automatically, but it didn’t. I ended up being dragged about two meters before I managed to jump back in and press the brake with my hand.
My father also had a close call. He parked, pressed the start button (thinking it would force the car into Park), and got out to have lunch. The car wasn’t actually in Park, and when he tried to climb back in to hit the brake, he almost got crushed between the door and the car body. He managed to stop it, but he suffered a bone fracture and was unable to move properly for weeks.
These cars with rotating gear *** tend to have this kind of issue, so definitely something to be mindful of. Wishing you a smooth recovery!
Johnny
Really sorry to hear about your mishap. Get well soon. I'm sure you know, you are lucky to be alive! These electronic shifters are absolute crap. OEMs need to go back to cable shifters, which were not great, but miles better.

Get well soon Johnny.
You are strong and it shows by the way you handle this unfortunate situation.
It is inimagenable to think how you could run after your car after you had both your legs tracked by its wheels.
All the best.
Hello All,
Thank you very much for the kind words and well wishes, they are greatly appreciated !
Going to have the 4 or 5 hematomas checked out tomorrow or Friday, they seem to look bigger.
@PEACOCK ,
Glad that you and your Father's incidence didn't turn out worse.
As to the rotary **** going into park after pressing the start stop button, I have never tried that, I have always put the **** into park by hand before killing the engine with the start stop button, I will try this tomorrow or Friday just to test the operation of it.
Hey Johnny….the most important thing right now is to heal. Get better soon as the rest of us try to figure out how to keep this forum going and our cars running!
